   A crank/cam correlation code can follow an oil-control or timing issue. Clear and see if it returns under load.

   Expected: Note whether it returns.

2. 2. Verify cam and crank sensor signals

   Erratic signals mimic a timing fault.

   Test: Live data cam/crank sensor presence; inspect tone wheels.

   Expected: Stable signals, no damage.

3. 3. Inspect timing chain/belt and VVT

   A stretched chain, jumped belt, or stuck VVT actuator shifts correlation. This is the costly path — confirm last.

   Test: Mechanical inspection of timing components.

   Expected: Timing within spec.
